It was an honour for GUBA Enterprise to serve as a strategic partner for the Omenaa Foundation’s Top Charity Gala in Poland and to facilitate the historic visit of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
The event marked a remarkable milestone for the Omenaa Foundation, which celebrated its anniversary by raising an extraordinary €20 million to support charitable causes around the world. Beyond the fundraising achievement, the gala demonstrated the power of philanthropy, culture, and international collaboration to bring people together for a greater purpose.
Over four impactful days, we participated in a series of high-level engagements, including meetings with senior officials at the Foreign Ministry, the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO, and the Deputy Prime Minister. These engagements highlighted the growing importance of cultural diplomacy and the role that African leadership can play in strengthening relationships across continents.
For me personally, this visit was particularly meaningful because it represents another chapter in a journey that GUBA has proudly shared with His Majesty over the years. We have had the privilege of supporting and facilitating several international engagements involving the Asantehene, including his participation in Memphis in May in 2021, the first-ever Akwasidae celebrations in London, engagements in Barbados, and now this historic visit to Poland.
Throughout these experiences, one thing has remained consistent: the extraordinary leadership of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
His Majesty’s influence extends far beyond the Ashanti Kingdom. He has become a global symbol of traditional leadership, unity, diplomacy, and development. Whether engaging government leaders, investors, business executives, academics, or members of the African diaspora, he possesses a unique ability to bring people together around shared values and common goals.
In a world often divided by politics, geography, and ideology, the Asantehene continues to demonstrate the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and cultural pride. His leadership has helped position Ghana and the Ashanti Kingdom as respected voices on the international stage while creating opportunities for investment, education, cultural exchange, and development.
I would also like to congratulate Omenaa Mensah and Rafał Brzoska for their vision and commitment to creating an event of such significance. The theme, “The Magic Kingdom of Ashanti,” beautifully celebrated Ghanaian culture, heritage, and excellence while introducing many international guests to the rich history and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom.
Special thanks must also go to Her Excellency Teresa Adjei-Mensah, Ghana’s Ambassador to Poland, whose dedication, coordination, and support were instrumental in ensuring the success of this important visit. Her efforts exemplify the strength of Ghana’s diplomatic service and its role in fostering meaningful international partnerships.
I would also like to acknowledge Omenaa’s unwavering commitment to promoting African art and culture on the global stage. Through her work, she continues to create platforms that elevate African creativity, celebrate our stories, and build bridges between Africa and the world.
As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded that the most powerful partnerships are those built on purpose, respect, and shared vision. The success of this visit was not simply about a gala or a fundraising milestone; it was about strengthening relationships, celebrating culture, and creating opportunities that will benefit future generations.
At GUBA Enterprise, we remain committed to building bridges between Africa and the global diaspora, creating platforms for trade, investment, culture, and collaboration. We are proud to have played a role in this historic occasion and look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
